About Awake

 In partnership with NET Ministries, the Office for Youth Evangelization and Discipleship is happy to present Awake, a Jr. High youth rally. Awake seeks to accompany 6-8th graders through an event that will provide opportunities for fellowship, worship, and encounter. The event is open and accessible to any 6-8th grader and will feature a meal, entertainment, music, games, small group conversation, a keynote testimony, Eucharistic adoration, and the opportunity for the youth to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Open to youth in grades 6-8

Cost $15

Dinner will be served.

Host, Speaker, and Worship


Speaker: Fr. Ethan Moore

Fr. Ethan Moore was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM but rural Ohio became home right around high school.  Father graduated from Franciscan University in 2007 with degrees in Theology and Philosophy but more importantly here in college his faith came alive!  After 3 years of working around the US teaching middle school religion in Texas and being a “cheesemonger” in California Ethan became a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and in May of 2015 was ordained to the priesthood.  Father loves life and LOVES being a priest!  Fr. Ethan is a huge fan of Chic fil a sauce, skateboards, the Oh Hellos, but mostly living in the Spirit all in for the Lord.  


Host: Laura Potter

Laura Potter has been "singing joyfully to the Lord" (Psalm 95:1) and creating psalms (songs) for the majority of her life. She encountered Jesus in the Eucharist when she was fifteen years old and soon after began writing Christian lyrics. She led worship on bass guitar in High School and then all over the United States with NET Ministries where she learned acoustic guitar. Laura continued writing her prayers to God at Franciscan University of Steubenville where she double majored in Catechetics and Theology and minored in Sacred Music. She has been blessed to lead worship in Honduras (Spanish), China (Mandarin Chinese), and pilgrimages in Europe and Israel. In November 2017 she finally released her first album "Holding on to Hope" which is a compilation of her psalms from ages 16 to 24. This summer Laura accepted a position as the Associate Director- VIA Missionaries for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and is loving her new home and all the people in it.

Worship: Joe Lundin

Joe is a gifted musician who desires to lead people to Christ! His prayerful witness to worship inspires those he leads into an encounter with Jesus! Joe started leading worship for his youth group back in high school and has since led music for countless retreats, liturgies, weddings, and healing services. As a NET (National Evangelization Team) Alumni and NET Staff Member, Joe sharpened his ability to lead worship as he went through NET's musician's training. He now helps train and has trained over 400 NET missionaries that have a desire to lead people into worship as well. He currently resides in Cincinnati working for NET as their Regional Office Administrator
