Speaker: Fr. Dan Schmitmeyer

Fr. Dan Schmitmeyer is the Vocation Director for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. He was ordained as a priest of the Archdiocese in 2006 at the age of 39. While he heard the call to the priesthood in the 2nd grade, he spent 25 years denying and at times running away from who God wanted him to be. When he finally accepted God’s will for his life, despite the earthly joys he experienced throughout his life, like being crowned the 1985 Shelby County Junior Fair King, he found true peace and joy when he became a priest. His first assignment after ordination was as the Parochial Vicar for the Coldwater Cluster parishes until 2008 when he became pastor of Holy Angels in Sidney. From there he was appointed to his current position in 2014, and he now spends his time encouraging everyone to pray for vocations and to ask God to reveal to each one of us who He wants us to be.
